OSight continues to expand its product line, and each time it really feels like it's the result of listening to what consumers want. As the line continues to expand it might get confusing as to which one is which, especially with the (thankfully) subtle branding on the dots you see. In this piece I'll attempt to sort them by features and sizes to make selecting the right one easier.
Why OSight? When OSight launched I, and many others had hesitations. The OLight brand is will known for spamming sales almost as bad as Axil. The earliest of OSights had issues and that didn't help. My first experience with OSight was after that first batch and I've been very pleased with them and now own about a dozen of them. I also attended an event where an OSight rode a demo gun for more than 5,000 rounds without any issues. That concreted my faith in the product. Getting reliability like that for a fraction of the price others ask makes OSight a win for me, more so with the features and options OSight includes.
The easiest way to select your OSight is a 3-question path:
Size: RMR or RMS/c
Open or Closed: What is your intended application?
Rechargable or Replaceable Battery?

Size is the smart way to begin an optics search as you've likely already got the gun and are looking for an optic to match. OSight has simplified things by currently only offering the two common sizes: the larger RMR pattern generally used for larger range guns or as a small optic on a rifle, and smaller RMS/c pattern which fits thinner pistols and is less obnoxious for carry. OSight also offers an adapter plate to be able to mount the smaller RMS/c footprint on a gun cut for the larger RMR footprint.

Open or Closed? Open dots are the original style, but there's legitimate concern of an open emitter being blocked or damaged. It's rare, but something I've experienced with snow and ash landing perfectly on the emitter to momentarily obstruct the emiter. Enclosed optics offer a solution for that as well as easier maintenance to wipe the "back" clean. I recommend enclosed emitters for all-weather serious training or carry, but you can save some money with an open emitter for a range gun.

Rechargeable or Replacable? One of OSight's industry-shifting technologies was the creation of a rechargable-battery optic with a hood that serves as the charger. Combined, this makes for a VERY long-lasting setup. I've had a few of these for over a year now and enjoy them. A concern some have is that is the hood or optic's internal battery were to go bad there's no field-expedient solution. In response to that OSight created optics with replaceable batteries for those who prefer that.
Below is my breakdown of OSight's lineup as of January, 2026 which should help you find the right optic for your needs.
