Derya continues to show the US market that the company's collective 1 million square feet of facilities world wide makes so much more than the DY9 we know and love them for. The EX1400 Coach is a fun configuration of a side-by-side shotgun with a shortened stock and pistol grip reducing overall length from 38.5" on a standard EX1400 to just 29" for this coach model. That makes bringing full-power 18" 12 ga along a lot easier, and the 18" barrels keep the gun free and clear of AOW (Any Other Weapon) legal challenges.

The reduced overall length makes the EX1400 an option for close quarters and compact storage such as home or vehicle defense, but could also serve as a fun gun with its Old West styling and simplicity of operation. Even former President Joe Biden was a fan of side by side shotguns!

Personally, I'm a fan of the styling with dual triggers, tall hammers, and monobloc construction, as well as the ability to use chokes unlike some other coach gun configurations I've seen.

Interesting. The hammered coach gun I got from Rock Island Armory was also made by Derya. I'm glad they kept the hammers on this model.

I also hope Derya hasn't given up on budget guns. I have the DY9 and DY9Z, but seems like everything they've announced since has been $500 and up. I climb that high now and then, but I mostly subsist at a more affordable level...
