@Rick D Jeez, an MP5 and a P7M8, plus you had some excellent exposure the world of firearms by your old Boss (R.I.P) who very wisely started you out on a .22 instead of shoving a 12ga in your hands so that he laugh as you got knocked on your ass......god I HATE that!! It turns people off who are curious about or tentatively nervous to even hold a firearm, never mind shoot it. That's awesome about your wife, and my wife was also afraid st first. Getting my Beretta 92FS into her hands was better than putting a Glock 26, or something similarly "snappy." I rarely got to shoot my Beretta anymore, so I took the roundabout way and got myself my Beretta 92X! 😉

track down a bear, and while fleeing for your life take shots at it with a Ruger 10-22. If you can survive that situation than you can live through anything else 😉

@Graham Baates She appreciates strong and capable women. My grandfather told me years ago that the day we stop learning is when we're six feet under, and I think he was right. It really is a blast, and I wince at the thought that there are more than 7 million new gun owners in the past year alone that have no Concealed Carry training, and probably 50% of that number haven't even fired their shiny, new, super expensive bling handguns once!

My Beretta 92X w/Meprolight night sights, and my Mossberg Shockwave with a Streamlight TL Racker. My HHL, for use with my Beretta, is an older, pretty awesome OLight that's something crazy for a handheld, like 500 lumen. It is super freaking bright! Anyone seeing that out of the dark is blinded for a good minute. Long enough for me to respond accordingly. *I forgot to mention that I live in a pseudo-apartment building, so over penetration is a big issue here. I load up with Hornady Critical Duty (135gr +P) and......go ahead and laugh.....mini shell slugs, which may sound a little contradictory, but it works when I'm training.

She used to be afraid of firearms till I showed her that a gun is only dangerous in the hands of the uneducated, and people with no formal training of any kind. Hi guys, I'm Steven. I've carried concealed for the past 20 years, and that was super rough living in Boston. 10+1 with everything I owned, until I came up to NH, a Constitutional Carry state, and experienced real freedom! My father and uncle, who passed away a few years ago, both served in Korea, and were the only ones in my family to encourage my firearm addiction. I worked armed security for years, and when I started working for a company that did subcontracted work for DHS at the JFK Building, the Tip O'Neill Federal Buildings in Boston, and the McIntyre Federal Building up here in Portsmouth NH, I got into some real training! One of my favorite courses was the "Active Shooter Response" that I was able to take at the Sig Academy. I also have my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice for what its worth.
