Gun Owners of America along with allies had a major win in court recently that has all the talking heads doing their thing. I've never been one to pretend I'm a legal expert, and find it both a bit shameful and dangerous that there are so many YouTubers out there creating click-bait from headlines. Be it to make a quick buck, or from honest intentions, few of them are qualified to give anything more than an opinion, and some mistakingly can be misleading.
Here are some facts, straight from the Gun Owners of America that should help clarify some things. I've recently picked up a suppressor since the ruling came down, but live in a state that only permits suppressors if they are processed through NFA channels, so nothing changed for me, but for states with more literate law makers the changes may be bigger, or no change at all.
I have been a member of Gun Owners of America for a couple of years now, having turned to them when I felt let down by other organizations for not helping preserve our rights as much as they had promised. GOA is a bit different, and does much of their legal work by writing the amicus brief. That brief provides facts, expert witness testimony, and opinions to help shape the way a particular legal decision is made. They also put on the great GOALS conference that provides seminars and a trade show to all members; allowing the general public to both learn from classes and meet manufacturers. You can learn more about GOA HERE. To join GOA and gain protections as explained the video click HERE.
