Sig has announced that the P320 is now on the California handgun roster. This means they've jumped through the hoops, paid the "fees" and dealt with all the other rediculous legislation to be able to export the incredibly-versatily P320 from the United States to California.
For those of you living inside the Consitutional Unitesd States, renegade California has taken many steps to restrict the civil rights of its subjects, including some of the most absurd restrictions on handguns in North America. Handguns are regulated, "tested" and "approved" by SKU. That means that if a manufacturer offeres the same gun in two different colors they must pay California and complete the process for "approval" for each color they want to sell in California. For the P320 it seems the M18 variant was first to be granted entry.
For those of you still subjected to California law there is some light in this: The P320's amazing modularity. As you know, the Fire Control Unit (FCU) is the actual "firearm" under Federal law, and the aftermarket options for grips, slides, and barrels are ever-expanding as we've shown several times on the channel and here on the website (see related articles at the bottom of the page). In short, once you have a P320 FCU you can make that "firearm" in to any configuration you want of the same caliber size family.
