EAA has recently released a pair of new Girsan double stack 1911s that are actually different from most everything else out there. At first glance they appear to be just a subcompact version of the Witness 2311, but there's more to the XXX series than is readily apparent. We have a CMX XXX in for review, and so while we wait for that review to finish I'd like to share some about these pistols as a precursor.

The magazines are what makes the biggest difference for me. In partnership with Check-Mate magazines EAA now has a double stack 1911 magazine holding 16 rounds and greatly reducing grip circumferance. So much so that with my large hands I can pull the trigger with the first knuckle of my trigger finger. Moreover, unlike other value guns out there, EAA is including two of these US-made magazines with the gun.

The above image highlights the main differences between the two models. Shooters can choose between having a grip safety or firing pin block safety like most striker-fired guns. At this time the optics option is only on the firing-pin block model.
As a sneak-peak for GBGunsDepot readers, here's the tabletop video of the EAA Girsan Witness 2311 CMX XXX a little early. Rumble Link
MSRP starts at just $599 and $899 for the SC 9 XXX and CMX XXX respectively. Searching 16AUG26 I was able to find any in retailers yet, so watch for the full review to come soon and hopefully by then there there will be greater availability.
