Credit where its due- PSA Dagger Compact

ree

A few years back I got a PSA Dagger Compact to do abusive testing of accessories. The gun has endured serious abuse since then, including having the slide openings packed with nice, gluey PNW clay mud, and continues to function flawlessly. After thousands of rounds the only malfunctions I can recall are some a few dud rounds- notably Winchester White Boc practice ammo. I know that not every owner of this gun has had a similarly positive experience, but for a cheap Glock clone I think that overall they do pretty damned well. There have been no modifications to the core functionality of this gun. I have altered the grip to a 1911 grip-angle, added some texture to the polymer frame and fabricated a mini-comp (mostly as a thread-protector. Do I recommend it? Provisionally yes. Just understand these guns are built to a price and some examples may need toโ€ฆ

If there is a local range nearby that rents guns I would suggest renting and firing them to get an idea of what will work for you.

GP P1 issues

I finally finished my video with the Grand Power P1 mk 23 issues, which were explained and demonstrated.

I am going to post screens of email exchanges here, want to see how and where we collectively end up.

Optic cut for Grand Power Mk 12

I love my new Grand Power pistols. A few quick questions:

Does anyone know of a reputable pistolsmith who can mill the older generation Grand Power slides to accept a Red Dot Optic?

And is anyone out there making metal RDO plates for the GP Mk 23 pistols?

Thanks!

32 Cal for EDC

What are your thoughts on carrying a 32 Cal for a CCW? .32 ACP, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Mag, or .327 Fred Mag are what I am considering.

Personally I don't have a reaosn to not carry 9mm. That said, I do understand that 32 cal firearms can be smaller and lighter, and recoil less, but I do question their effectiveness even though statistics tell us that it's the number of hits, not the caliber that tends to end a threat.

SAR 9 Gen 3

I saw the positive review on the SAR 9C Gen 3 and picked up the larger version for less than expected. This is the SAR9G3BL with 17 rounds and a 4.4 inch barrel. It has a manual safety. This is a feature that I like but opinions vary considerably on this. Searching for the UPC may yield interesting results. FYI- The UPC for this model is 810075873108

Favorite Range Ammo

General question: what is the โ€œbestโ€ range ammo? I suppose you could expand to include something for defensive use if you could only pick one, which would make the most sense?
