Those of you who have been with the channel and website for a while know that I'm a bit of a training junkie. When I can afford it, I've sought training from Front Sight, CENTER-T, ITTS, Thunder Ranch and other big names. When that's not an option, I've attended local classes, even if it's a repeat "level" of training I value the different perspective and pointers each instructor brings. At the worst it's good repetitions of things I've learned in the past or an opportunity to try a new pistol or gear. The end goal is always the same: learn.
Although the CENTER-T instructors mentioned some complex training they've done in Russia, few locations are able to offer complex drills involving moving targets over lapping with no-shoot targets. This has meant miliatry, law enforcement, private security, and armed citizens have generally been unable to train for the most likely and sensitive use of a firearm.
ACCUSHOOT has the solution with their portable LFX sytem. Moving targets projected on a screen for engagement with a real firearm.
Other projector-based systems require the use of lasers and fail to replicate true gun handling and recoil. Even the most sophisticated systems out there use modified firearms to have almost-correct recoil (when working properly) but those specialized "firearms" don't have the same ergonomics and trigger feel as YOUR gun.
The ACCUSHOOT LFX works with any firearm, so your training and experience applies directly to you. Other projectors systems are great for training your mind, but not so great for training you with your own firearm. The ACCUSHOOT LFX trains your mind and weapon handling with your firearm.
What Is It? The ACCUSHOOT LFX is a training device which projects targets on a screen, times and scores your shots, and allows you to review your performance. Targets can be static, move around, and scale to simulate distance. Video footage can also be integrated with shoot/ no-shoot zones programmed in to allow the trainee to simulate real-world scenarios. The system is effectively blind to existing holes on the paper and so there is no need to tape or repair the target between sessions.
Who's It For? Ownership of course requires a range with control of lighting, so indoor training facilities and those with access to a night range are most likely to become owners. Users can be anyone. Programs include essentials that might encourage youth to practice, help armed citizens test their skills, competitive shooters to sharpen their skills, and uniformed personnel to train real scenarios.
Where Can You Experience it? Currently the only location is Oregon's Indoor Shooting Range in Lebanon, OR. If you're a range owner or would like to inquire about getting a system near you ACCUSHOOT can be contacted HERE.
Is It Any Good? In my opinion it's amazing. No need to drag targets around or fuss with a shot-timer, automatic progress recording with the ability to review, a leader board to see how you rank, and most importantly the ability to train drills that otherwise are physically impossible to replicate. Take a look at THIS time stamp in the video to see a combination of the Bill Drill, FAST Drill, and Mozambique drill needing to be shot in order, on moving targets that can also overlap or obscure one another. Mentally going into a Bill Drill, then having to pause due to target obstruction before resuming is a challenge I've not seen anywhere else, but certainly exercises the mind!
