The Sig FUSE has been one of my favorite handguns of late. Slim enough for most to carry, but true 9mm ballistics and full-size capacity. Swapping to an Icarus Precision grip module and DPM Systems recoil assembly made the gun even better. Now Sig has followed the design principles of the Macro Comp model by porting the slide and running a shorter 3.7" barrel in that slide.
The advantage of this design is that it avoids many of the negatives of a traditionally-ported barrel or adding a comensator to the end of a barrel. Weight is reduced from the slide instead of adding a weight for the action to fight, and there is no need to avoid plated ammunition. Yes, velocity is still lost by running a shorter barrel, but as demonstrated in the 365 Ammunition review there are answers for that issue.
Original press release from Sig below.
"FUSE. Now Flatter.
The Compensated FUSE Has Arrived.
Introducing the P365-FUSE COMP ROMEO-X SIG-LOC — a full-size P365 platform engineered for shooters who want recoil control, optic durability, and out-of-the-box readiness. Featuring a slide-integrated expansion chamber with a 3.7” barrel, the FUSE COMP delivers reduced muzzle rise without added length or bulk.

Equipped with a factory-mounted ROMEO-X SIG-LOC Compact optic, fully enclosed and mounted from underneath the slide, the system provides the strongest optic lockup in the industry while maintaining a low deck height for standard-height iron sight co-witness.
FUSE slide serrations, a full accessory rail, and interchangeable backstraps ensure confident handling and adaptability across shooting styles.
Flatter shooting. Stronger lockup. Ready from day one"
